Network Services Upgraded to Anope 2.1

We have successfully upgraded our network services from Anope 2.0 to the latest Anope 2.1 branch, bringing improved stability, enhanced security features, and modern IRCv3 capabilities.
Network Infrastructure Update: Anope 2.1 Migration Complete

Dear community,

We are excited to announce that our core network services have been successfully upgraded from Anope 2.0 to the brand new Anope 2.1 release branch. This major upgrade ensures our chat infrastructure remains secure, fast, and fully compatible with modern IRC standards.

What is new in Anope 2.1?
The transition to the 2.1 architecture brings several critical back-end enhancements and user-facing improvements:

  • Enhanced IRCv3 Support: Better integration with modern client capabilities, including improved SASL authentication frameworks and extended metadata handling.
  • Optimized Performance: Rewritten core modules reduce memory overhead and ensure faster response times for NickServ, ChanServ, and MemoServ.
  • Modernized Security: Upgraded encryption protocols for password hashing and secure server-to-services communication link protection.
  • Bug Fixes: Resolution of long-standing legacy bugs present in the older 2.0 stable branch.

What does this mean for you?
  • No Data Loss: All registered nicknames, channels, access lists, and settings have been safely migrated to the new database structure.
  • Re-authentication: In rare cases, if your client does not support modern SASL negotiation correctly, you might need to manually identify using /msg NickServ IDENTIFY <password>.
  • Command Changes: Some advanced administrative commands have been streamlined. Normal user commands for managing your accounts remain identical.
