Authentication method during connection (no cleartext password after connect).

Cloak

Masks your real IP/host with a generic host.

Mode

Status or setting for user/channel (e.g. +o, +m).

OP

Channel operator with moderation rights.

Voice

May speak in moderated (+m) channels.

Flood

Rapid sequence of identical or similar messages.

Whois

Query information about a user.

CTCP

Client-to-Client protocol for actions like VERSION or PING.

vHost (Virtual Host)

A custom displayed hostmask hiding your real connection host (granted via host/vhost services).

Takeover

Loss of control of a channel by its legitimate operators, usually via de-op, nick stealing or mass join tactics.
